Overview: Why Study in Germany?

Germany has become a prime choice for students due to its excellent academic standards, affordable education, and the availability of tuition-free programs. German public universities often charge only minimal administrative fees, making education highly accessible. Here’s what makes Germany an attractive option:


  •  Tuition-Free Education : Many public universities offer programs without tuition fees, even for international students.
  •  English-Taught Programs : Over 1,600 English-medium courses are available across various universities.
  • High-Quality Education: German universities are globally renowned for research and innovation.
  •  Low Cost of Living : While studying in Germany is affordable, students need to demonstrate sufficient financial means to cover living expenses.


Eligibility and Language Requirements:

  • To apply for a bachelor’s degree in Germany, international students must have completed 13 years of schooling (equivalent to a higher entrance education qualification). Those who don’t meet this criterion may be required to attend a "Studienkolleg" (preparatory course) to bridge the gap.  


  • Each program has specific entry requirements. Generally, you will need:


   - A higher education entrance qualification (for undergraduate programs) or a relevant bachelor's degree (for postgraduate programs).


        - Language proficiency certificates (IELTS/TOEFL for English programs; B2 or C1 level in German for German-taught programs).


Prepare the Required Documents


  •     Educational Documents : Attested transcripts, diplomas, and degree certificates.


  •   Bachelor's Degree :

   IELTS: Overall 6.0 (doesn't matter if any individual band is lower, for students applying for English Medium Study).


    German Language (if applicable): B2 level,Students applying for German Medium Study)


  • Master’s Degree :

    IELTS: Overall 6.5, no less than 6.0 in any band,for English Medium.

    German Language (if applicable): C1 level,for German language medium.


    A strong academic background and good percentage in your bachelor's degree are critical to securing a spot.



  •    Europass CV : A detailed curriculum vitae in the Europass format.


  •     Other Requirements : Some universities may require GRE or GMAT scores for specific programs.


 Submit the Application


  •    Send your application : attact all your files through the contact form by filling the contact form, if any missing while sending the files, you will be notify through your mentioned e-mail address while filling the contact form.


Wait for Admission Results

   After submitting your application, we will review your application and as welll as the university will also review your documents. If successful, you will receive an "admission offer letter".







Visa Process for Studying in Germany

  • Once you have receive the "Admission Letter" from German university, the next step is to apply for a student visa. The process can take several weeks, so it is important to start early.


Proof of Financial Resources


  •    You must prove that you have enough funds to cover your living expenses in Germany. This can be done by providing one of the following:


   - A blocked account with a balance of at least €11,208 (approximately €934 per month for 12 months).


     - A scholarship confirmation or a formal obligation letter from a sponsor living in Germany (Verpflichtungserklärung).


Health Insurance


  •    You will need to have valid health insurance coverage for the duration of your studies. If your home country's insurance is not valid in Germany, you will need to purchase German health insurance.


  •  Prepare for the Visa Application


   Gather all the required documents for your student visa application, including : 


  •   Admission letter from the university.
  •   Proof of financial means.
  •     Valid health insurance.
  •     Completed visa application form.
  •     Visa application fee


  • Submit Your Visa Application


   Schedule an appointment with the local German embassy or consulate to submit your visa application. Ensure that you have photocopies of all documents and follow the specific instructions of the embassy.


Visa Processing Time


   Visa processing can take between 3 to 8 weeks. You need to be prepare to attend an interview during the application process.



When to Apply? – Germany Study Intakes

Germany offers "two main intakes" for international students to start their studies:


 Winter Intake (Primary Intake):

   - Application Period: December to March

   - Course Start: September/October

   - Recommended to Apply: December – January to ensure a smooth process.


 Summer Intake (Limited Programs):

   - Application Period: June to September

   - Course Start: March/April

   - Recommended to Apply: June – July for better chances of securing admission.


  • Application Deadlines


Winter Intake Deadline: 

Most universities close their applications by March 15 for the winter semester starting in September/October.


Summer Intake Deadline:  

For the summer semester, the deadline is typically September 15, with courses starting in March/April.

Total Processing Time (From Application to Visa Decision)

Step-by-Step Timeline:


  • University Application: Submit 6–8 months before the course start date.
  • Admission Decision: 6–8 weeks after applying.
  • Visa Application: 6–12 weeks after receiving the admission letter.


  • Total Time: The entire process from university application to visa approval can take 4 to 6 months, so it's best to start early!


Important Tips :


  •  Plan Ahead : Apply as early as possible to avoid delays in both university and visa processing.  
  • No German Required : You can study entirely in English without needing to learn German.
